The Centre for the Study of Human Development is currently engaged in two major projects: GENDER AND DEVELOPMENT Professor B.N. Ghosh and Dr. P.K. Chopra are editing the book 'Gender and Development'. It will be based on the following thematic issues: Gender Relations The Centre has
received articles from across the world and is planning to publish two
volumes of the book.

PLANNED RESEARCH AREAS FOR 2001 Country Studies
in Income Distribution - A look at income distribution in developing
countries, to include: Facts About Asian Migration to the United Kingdom Country Series in Brain Drain - A look at brain migration from Asian countries to developed countries Women in the World - This will include studies on women in different countries in the form of a book initially, to be followed by an encyclopaedia. Human Development and Economic Growth - Some Contemporary Issues - This will include investigation into the importance of education, skill formation, health, knowledge and I.T. for development and economic growth. Human Development: Theory, Practice and Policy. Privatisation of National Health Services in the UK. Access to Higher Education in the UK. Economic Development & Income Inequalities. The Future
